Three of our portfolio companies, Attewell Ltd, Lamsco West, Inc. and Pillar Seals & Gaskets (PSG), were founded in 1942, 1962 and 1963 respectively. 

Hampson Industries Plc acquired Attewell and PSG in 1996 and added Bolsan Inc. to its portfolio in 1998. 

By 2011, Hampson Industries had re-branded all of these businesses under the umbrella of Shimtech Industries. Shimtech Industries was sold to Bridgepoint Development Capital in 2011 and under that ownership, two additional companies were added to the portfolio, Performance Plastics, Inc. in 2013 and Angeles Composites Technology, Inc. in 2015.

In May 2015, Shimtech Industries was sold to Inflexion Private Equity and Auctus Industries, who remain the current owners.

Fastener Technology Corp. was added to the group in December 2019 and California Screw Products Inc. and Fastener Innovation Technology, Inc. were each acquired in 2020, together forming the Avantus Fasteners Division.

In October 2021 Avantus Aerospace divested its Composites businesses, Performance Plastics, Inc., Angeles Composites Technology, Inc. and Shimtech De Mexico, to focus on expansion into C-Class components.
